Secured straw
Sadie making sure our bales are secure. We obtained local barley straw, stacked them on pallets and covered them with 6mm poly and then covered with woven tarps. So far it has withstood some pretty good wind storms.
The new road
We are very fortunate to have Roger Meyer as a neighbor. He owns some equipment and is helping us prepare the site for building.

There is undoubtably water on the property but it is a long way from the top of the hill. That is why we will be using a catchment system for the time being.

As you can see there is not much to block the sun or wind. Perfection for solar and wind generation.
